Fed’s Powell Rattles Markets With Retire Transitory Inflation and Speed Up Taper Comments

Federal Reserve System Chairman Jerome Powell took a decidedly hawkish tone today which sent US stock markets lower. Fed Chair Powell said it’s a good time to retire the word “transitory” and suggests its appropriate to taper more quickly. Morgan Stanley Warns Rise in Treasury Yields Could Cause A Correction In US Stocks

Morgan Stanley’s chief investment officer Mike Wilson on Bloomberg Wednesday issued a sobering warning on another day of record highs saying US stocks are overbought and risks a correction due to rising interest rates. He added bull markets tend to overshoot a little bit in the short term, any kind of pullbacks will probably be bought.

Lower Rates Won’t Boost Stock Markets Further Warns Bill Gross

Former Bond King Bill Gross commented Tuesday again on ‘fake markets‘ saying the boost from negative interest rate yields may have reached an end, warning that lower rates won’t boost stock markets further when he released his first investment outlook, “The Fixx”, since retiring from Janus Henderson this year.
