Video game publisher Activision Blizzard $ATVI reported second quarter earnings Thursday which easily beat consensus estimates as MAU's soared. However the gaming company offered mixed guidance which saw the stock waddle.

Take-Two Interactive Software $TTWO delivered again, shares ripped higher over 11% after the video game publisher and distributor reported earnings and raised guidance. Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online again delivering.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. $CHK reported before the market opened Thursday beating profit and revenue estimates for the second quarter. Chesapeake was boosted by oil and gas revenue which rose to $1.279 billion from $440 million. 

Independent energy company Apache Corp $APA shares are down over 5% today after reporting a second quarter loss before special items and revenue lower than consensus estimates. $APA also guided lower on divested numbers. 

The Bank of England (BOE) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) left interest rates unchanged and QE on hold with a vote of 6-2 Thursday. The British pound fell 120 pips on the news.
