New car registrations have collapsed in the U.K in September SMMT report. Seasonally this is particulary concernings as it's the first time UK September car registrations have fallen in 6 years. Diesel vehicle demand has crashed on emission confusion.

While much of this can be flagged off as continuing fallout from the emmissions scandal from VW over the past few years there is a worrying trend in retail sales as we saw in the European releases yesterday. The confusion of the UK and Brexit which is dogging PM May is also harming people's decisions and confidence.
