is this the first phone with Snapdragon 845?

QUALCOMM’s Snapdragon CPU family is indeed innovative & very state of art. The “SD” CPUs are fairly new compared to long track history of INTEL, AMD, Motorola, Apple, etc. … As you shared I believe Samsung S9 family is indeed the 1st to use 845 (and some today as noted at bottom of post use the 835 which is an awesome low-powered innovative CPU). And also Xiaomi phones will use this in future, as well as other brands … if we can’t build a better battery — why not build a phone that takes less juice to run — how smart & kool is that 😉 8)

The CPU in the Snapdragon 845 is called the Kryo 385, and like its predecessor, the Snapdragon 835, the 2.8GHz, offer a performance boost of 25-30 percent over those in the Snapdragon 835, while the efficiency cores, which clock in at 1.8GHz, offer a 15-percent performance boost.

Eventually most flagship phones will feature the Snapdragon 845. Phones that pack the Snapdragon 835 include the Google Pixel 2, the LG V30, HTC’s U11, Sony’s Xperia XZ1, and more. We expect these phones’ successors to make use of the Snapdragon 845.

QCOM is up over 5.6% today as they truly make some great LOW-POWER chips plus possible merger news with Broadcom 🙂

Qualcomm ( QCOM): Shares higher in early trade. Qualcomm is urging a deal with Broadcom, asking Broadcom to complete the non-price terms of a proposed deal, so the two sides can negotiate on price.
