Interesting take on the BDI chart – the SP lines peak to peak are slanted though they appear to be parallel which is would be the concern that it is data fitting however what we do know is that BDI has collapsed which suggests the trade war has really hit trade hard

Good morning – some minor profit taking as DOW is down about 50 points
Markets were up almost 10% in JANUARY, as we had a great Santa rally

P.S. The NATIONAL ANTHEM was awesome yesterday (and link below)

MAROON 5 performance …

While I would never post any of those tunes in our great forums — a few of my FAVs in link below can serve as alternative if anyone desires music (and tastes will indeed vary – as attendees seemed to like halftime)

Still thank God predicted kneeling did not occur ….. otherwise a highly defensive & boring game would have had a much sooner “CLICK” … still I returned to watching NFL noting better behavior & not to let one bad apple spoil whole barrel 😉

Congratulates to Pats, Brady, and the coach. I used to a very avid sports “nut” but some of my heroes let me down in baseball, football, and even tour de France for example. Superbowl is just a game these days, and I do admire the accomplishment, but I don’t get into sports as much these days.

Oil is a good example of pure speculation versus the economy …

Blood speculators doing their best to push oil higher on Venezuela and OPEC but $BDI, Supply and waning economy are on the other hand – the moves are sharp and furious

“Prices are volatile due to tariff restrictions.” (Management of Companies & Support Services)
“We are trying to hold out through the government shutdown. Currently, our work is continuing with already obligated prior-year funds. We have not had to suspend any activities. The shutdown is affecting the United States Agency for International Development’s [USAID] and the Department of State’s ability to process actions, share information or plan for the future. That is the shutdown’s effect on us. The longer it lasts, the greater the disruption.” (Professional, Scientific & Technical Services)
“Apprehension regarding overall economic conditions due to uncertainly of the partial government shutdown, its effect on business climate and lack of national strategic direction. Economic activity remains strong locally; however, there is concern that this may change quickly due to uncertainty and reports of slowing economic indicators.” (Public Administration)
