It’s too early to tell whether the Las Vega tragedy is related … From high-rise hotel on 32nd floor a sniper opened fire with possibly automatic weapons (machine gun) on huge outdoor event. This was a local man & terrorism is likely domestic in nature. My heart & prayers go out for all impacted
Terrible news – what will be the verdict on this and how will the this split partisan nation try to take advantage of a horrible situation – that is the sad world we live in now.
May God bless & comfort & heal city of LAS VEGAS & rest of nation. There is a dark side of the force & we all hope future incidents can be prevented stopped in time — plus create a better system to identify troubled individuals & get them help in time. .
and if we thought the Patriot act caused increased surveillance & unusual purchases to be closely monitored — as the great Randy Bachman once said “you ain’t seen nothing yet” .. all it takes a few bad apples to spoil the bunch …
One day in the future — I can hear someone monitoring my own records, ask “why does he keeps buying so many bags for his pets, when he’s got a whole garden to feed them with”
There are too many unknowns on why shooter was possessed to do this. But I read some chilling verses in the good book today that were chilling (ROM 1:28-32) esp. verses 30 which notes “inventors of evil things” … that sent chills up my spine as this evil attack had innovation in it we have never seen before. Some speculate it could even have been someone on left was radicalized to attack conservative types attending country & western event . All explanations are fake news at this point, Hopefully answers will be found that can help prevent future events — as all life is precious — even those of the deer that steal from our garden
Chilling indeed that one can mow down people like this and chilling that he was able to get it all into his room undetected. So many unanswered questions here of how one man could do it – from the lack of conscience to knockout so called unbreakable windows to having an armory all undetected. Cue all the theories on that.
It is also despicable the way politicians try to play around with it immediately after let alone the trolls – our society is at constant new lows.
The National Rifle Association today issued the following statement:
“In the aftermath of the evil and senseless attack in Las Vegas, the American people are looking for answers as to how future tragedies can be prevented. Unfortunately, the first response from some politicians has been to call for more gun control. Banning guns from law-abiding Americans based on the criminal act of a madman will do nothing to prevent future attacks. This is a fact that has been proven time and again in countries across the world. In Las Vegas, reports indicate that certain devices were used to modify the firearms involved. Despite the fact that the Obama administration approved the sale of bump fire stocks on at least two occasions, the National Rifle Association is calling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to immediately review whether these devices comply with federal law. The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations. In an increasingly dangerous world, the NRA remains focused on our mission: strengthening Americans’ Second Amendment freedom to defend themselves, their families and their communities. To that end, on behalf of our five million members across the country, we urge Congress to pass National Right-to-Carry reciprocity, which will allow law-abiding Americans to defend themselves and their families from acts of violence.”
