KeymasterGROUND ZERO FOR LANDFALL IN PANHANDLE OF FLORIDA (65MPH & HEAVY RAINS)
29 May '18 at 12:21 pm #16789The
ParticipantHopefully in the 2018 “hurricane season” Texas does not get as much rain as occurred last year from Harvey.
Which by the way was not the 1st time that has ever happened in Texas. In the late 1970s when I lived there, just 15 minutes by car from my residence in Medina they got 48 inches of rainfall from Amelia which was a mere tropical storm, was not even considered a hurricane when it made landfall.
San Antonio had very severe flooding from Amelia since Medina is on the northwest side of San Antonio. Was also the most rainfall ever recorded in the continental US from a tropical storm/hurricane until Harvey – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropical_Storm_Amelia_(1978)
