Copper steady on Friday but still recorded its biggest weekly price fall since March.

Benchmark copper on the London Metal Exchange ended at $US6,508 a tonne, up 0.1 per cent on the day and down 2.8 per cent this week from a three-year high of $US6,970 on September 5 but is still up 18 per cent so far this year.

Support seen between $US6,300 and $US6,400 around the 50-day moving average and the high point of prices in 2015.
