    The CME FedWatch Tool shows a 98.9% probability of a 25-basis points rate hike on Wednesday, but what comes after is the real question. The fed funds futures market still thinks the July hike will be the last one by the Fed, yet The Wall Street Journal’s Nick Timiraos penned a piece this morning that suggested the Fed isn’t ready to declare victory on inflation.

    European Central Bank’s latest banking survey showed corporate loan demand dropping to a record low
    Fueling speculation that the #ECB could pause its rate hike campaign after this week’s meeting.

    Economists from Germany’s ifo Institute see a rising chance of another quarter of contraction, adding that it would be reasonable for the ECB to pause its hiking cycle.
