Domino’s and Nuro Combine For Self Driving Pizza Delivery Trial in Houston

Domino’s will start using Nuro’s small robotic vehicles to deliver pizzas in Houston this week.

The low-speed autonomous vehicles have been developed by Nuro, a startup based in Silicon Valley. Domino’s and Nuro plan to extend their partnership to other U.S. cities in the future.

Nuro has established similar partnerships with Kroger, Walmart, and CVS.
Nuro was founded by two former Google engineers in 2016 and has raised $1.5B since its inception.
Following a $500M funding round in November, Nuro was estimated to be worth $5B.

Last month, Chipotle CFO Jack Hartung said the fast-food chain would begin making deliveries in Nuro’s autonomous vehicles within five years.
