S&P/ASX 200 Index -0.8%, the bourse ended the week 1.7 per cent lower, after a 3.3 per cent decline in BHP to $61.35 dragged the index down as traders pared back holdings ahead of its result next week.
Alcoa dropped 3.2 per cent to $49.59 after signing a 10-year gas deal with Equus Energy at a cost of $1.5 billion. Equus dropped 6.3 per cent to $1.05.
