Apple iPad WiFi and 3G Traders Differences

You have made the choice to buy an iPad, now what are the iPad Wi-Fi and 3G differences. The Apple iPad tablet has proven to be a technological phenom. The decision to buy the iPad 3G version or the Wi-Fi only version is dependant on your budget and what wireless access you have. Once you have made the budget decision, the iPad and 3G and WiFi difference is a $130 minimum up front. Many of us are feeling the pinch since the world debt crisis so if you really shouldn’t be buying an iPad the Wi-Fi only model is for you if you must. Another factor is data fees if you already have Wi-Fi network access at home or at work Wi-Fi only model may suit you.

If you have no budgetary constraints and you simply want the comfort of wireless Internet access at all times. You don’t want to search for a free WiFi hotspot or high hotel fees; typically round $10 per day then IPad 3G model suits you. Whilst you do pay $130 more to own the iPad 3G there are no monthly wireless data bills except for a 250MB or a 2GB account. That becomes the next important question, what will use the iPad 3G or Wi-Fi mostly for? If you want to watch high-resolution video then you will need the higher memory versions. I would also recommend that you sign up for the 2GB data account if you choose the iPad 3G. Again these are all part of your budgetary constraints. There are a few physical differences in the iPad 3G and Wi-Fi that may help your decision.

Arista, Atlantic, BMG Music, Capital, Elektra, Interscope, LaFace, Motown, Priority, Sony BMG, UMG, Virgin and Warner Brothers had all sued Lime Group.

The decision will be wide ranging as LimeWire accounts for 58 percent of people admitted to having downloaded music from a peer-to-peer service in 2009 said CNET News. The concentration may even be greater as many people downloading would wish not to admit to downloading free music or take the NPD survey.

The Ruling Against LimeWire

U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood found for the 13 major record companies who sued for Lime Wire for infringing their music copyrights in Arista Records LLC et al v.
XBox Live for Microsoft Phone, Windows Phone Series 7 Marketplace

The past six months has been all Apple, the rampant success of iPad and of the new iPhone 4. XBox Live for mobile users, Windows Phone Series 7 Marketplace design is critical for Microsoft. Microsoft has a challenge to design marketplace to bring in all the mobile users out there. Back in March Microsoft launched Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 7 Marketplace. The landing date is the 2010 holidays. The design is very much Zune HD as opposed to Windows Mobile. In the time there has also been growing Android success. In the U.S. now the Android operating system has over taken Apple as the number two smartphone behind Blackberry. However this may have changed with the success of the new iPhone 4.0.

The XBox Live for Mobile Users, Windows Phone Series 7 Marketplace design has potential but Microsoft is fighting an uphill battle to design marketplace to conquer all. They are unfashionably late to a mobile games party that's been defined by Apple and gate crashed by Android. Apple has landed itself as ‘The Product’ with a three-year head start. So how does Microsoft Design Marketplace? It will be an interesting wait. Right now we have seen much hoopla with the new e-readers from Nook and Kindle, new Hulu Plus and Home Theater TV on Demand. I can't help thinking Microsoft has not been party to any of these consumer changes. XBox Live for Mobile Users, Windows Phone Series 7 Marketplace Design for mine is going to have to be something special to break through.

Symantec has found security flaws in iPad, iPhone and iTouch. The security firm found all three Apple devices are vulnerable to hackers. The newly discovered security flaws affect the Apple iOS. Privately owned security firms Lookout and Vupen confirmed the Symantec warnings. The iOS vulnerability could allow hackers to enslave iPad, iPhone and iTouch.

Hackers could hijack and control of the Apple mobile device. The security bug is hidden in a PDF document in a booby-trap. This style implanted in websites and email in malware by hackers is a huge threat.

Google Inc's Android operating system vulnerabilities were exposed at DefCon earlier. New more complex software running mobile devices is like a red flag to a bull for computer hackers. Apple through spokeswoman Natalie Harrison said she was aware of the report and said they were investigating its validity. The popularity of the iPad, iPhone and iTouch makes these security flaws are a sensitive issue for Apple.

Read the complete Apple iPad, iPhone and iTouch Security Flaws Symantec Warns report here.

In a move many tech watchers thought would never happen Yahoo is adopting Google’s search engine, in Japan anyway. Japan's largest Internet portal site is Yahoo Japan? Yahoo Japan and Google have an increasing alliance.

It was reported in All Things Digital that the alliance has grown to where a Google deal for the algorithmic search business for Yahoo Japan is likely. It was also reported in Japan’s main business paper, Nikkei business daily that Yahoo Japan would likely switch its search engine to Google. Currently Yahoo Japan uses Yahoo Inc's engine. Yahoo Inc, which is American based owns just over a third of Yahoo Japan.

Yahoo Japan is scheduled to announce quarterly earnings on Tuesday. Toru Nagano from Yahoo Japan said Yahoo Japan is considering a search engine switch but added no further detail.

From the B.A.D. Desk 2010

Hong Kong stocks fell 1.99 percent to their lowest level in more than three months on Thursday, as investors exited Chinese banks and property stocks after strong economic data from China reignited fears of further tightening measures.

Funds that have been borrowing U.S. dollars at low interest rates to invest in higher-risk Asian stocks - known as carry trades - are unwinding their positions as the U.S. dollar strengthens, dealers said.

The dollar rose to a 4-½ month high against a basket of currencies. The greenback also jumped against the Hong Kong dollar as funds pulled out.

'With the U.S. dollar rebound, that will lead to a deeper correction with the carry trade activity,' said Steven Lam, vice-president at Karl-Thomson Securities.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell sharply in afternoon trade, ending down 423.50 points at 20,862.67, its lowest close since Oct. 6.
Toyota to double hybrid output in 2011

Toyota Motor Corp aims to double its global output of gas-electric hybrid cars to 1 million units in 2011, as it fights to stay in the lead in the growing market for low-emission cars, the Nikkei business reported on Monday.

Toyota, the world's largest automaker, had said it aimed to sell 1 million models annually worldwide soon after 2010 and has been ramping up its push on hybrids, introducing the Sai sedan in Japan recently, the brand's second hybrid-only model.

Low emission hybrids have enjoyed strong sales thanks to generous subsidies and tax breaks. The Prius, Toyota's flagship hybrid, became Japan's best-selling car in 2009.

'For the foreseeable future, the focus of Toyota's (low-emission car) strategy will be on hybrids, not electric or fuel-cell cars,' said Yoshihiko Tabei, chief analyst at Kazaka Securities, adding the production volume reported by the Nikkei was in line with his expectations.

'Except for Honda, Toyota is facing little competition in hybrids and is set to put distance between itself and other automakers.'
