Bundesbank sees short-term deflation risk says Steinbrueck

Posted Wednesday 24 June 2009 - 03:16:44

The Bundesbank sees the risk of 'deflation in the short term', German Finance Minister Peer Steinbrueck said on Wednesday.

Bundesbank chief Axel Weber participated in a meeting with German cabinet ministers earlier on Wednesday.

Steinbrueck added that he was taking the risk of inflation over the medium-term very seriously and that exit strategies had to be thought about.
